Welcome to
the 20 years of "The
Belgian Club of Florida"!
First of
all, I would like to thank all members and friends for their continuous
support and most of all for "believing in us!!!" Looking back 20
years, I have to say “It was worth the effort!”
We've
been signing up new members every month but over the years we've also
had the sad loss of some great compatriots, a key figure in our society
being our Consul, Gui Govaert, who served the Belgian community and
Miami for over 30 years. Although his physical presence is no longer
with us, his memory will continue to live on with many of our members
and friends, as Gui was known for his sincere and cheerful spirit.
In those
twenty years of BCOF we were entertained by Belgian stars
like Salvatore Adamo, Jean Toots Thielemans, Freek de Jonghe(NE), Wim Soetaer,
Tony Sandler, Anneke Soetaert, Walter Grootaerts, VRT, VTM, RTL, RADIO 2, Q-music,
Wim Oosterlinck, Luc Appermont, Luc Steeno, Lisa Delbo,Freek
Neirinck,Walter Capiau,Theater Taptoe and Captain De Wilde (Haven van
Gent), Joyce De Trogh, our national soccer team, The Red Devils, in the
world cup hosted by the US, and last but not least " The voice of
Europe", Eddy Wally himself en his Marietje. Many thanks and hopefully
we will see you again sometime soon!

events are coming your way in 2008, so put our
web site on top of your favorites and check frequently for the latest
news and activities!!!
I hear
the same remark about our club over and over “Because of the
Belgian Club we have found our best friends here!"
Again, as
a relatively small chapter, we have access to an astounding array of
programs and services, all of which have continued to grow and improve
throughout the years and hopefully again this year!
Prospective members may attend our meetings before deciding to join.
This will give you a chance to meet our members and see if our
activities will be of interest to you and your family and friends.
We will, of course, welcome your comments and suggestions.
