On November 4, the Belgian Club of Florida celebrated its 20th Anniversary at the Marriott Beach Harbor Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. We counted with the presence of 150 members, friends and family. Eddy was the hit of the afternoon, showering us with his famous tunes and charm. After the party, we gathered at Paul Cuyper's house to continue with the celebration with music and singing until the wee hours. And here go our thanks.... ...to Eddy Wally for coming over from Belgium especially to be with us. Wow, Eddy, you still rock!! ...to Pascale Van Cleemput for taking care of the mailings, our new club shirts, the gifts for the raffle and the generous goodie bag with BCF memorabilia for our members. ...to Ann Joslyn and her staff from the Marriott Hotel, who made it all possible to accommodate our large group and allow us to provide the entertainment, not to mention the outstanding service and great food. ...to Paul Cuypers, always willing to open the doors to his home to receive everyone. His "Filet Americain and baguette" - as always - were out of this world! ....to Philippe Boets for coming down from North Carolina to be with us and remember some good old times as the 'founding father' of the Belgian Club. We miss you, Philippe! ...to Andree and Marleen from the Belgian Consulate in Atlanta for sharing this special day with us. Remember out little Belgium down here! ...to Koen Roelens for the 15 cases of Stella, no wonder we had such a good time at Paul's! ...to the many new and happy faces, our friends from the Dutch Club, to Dieter for taking the Greyhound bus back and forth from Vero Beach so he could make it. Amazing! And last but not least, our special thanks to our members for their 'pat on our back' and cheer. We certainly wouldn't be able to do all we do without them. We hope that by bringing back a little bit of Belgium, through our culture and unique blend of languages, we may continue to count with their laughter, humor and support.
